Last week of school...
I have been reflecting a little bit about the upcoming week.
It is, indeed, the last week of school and above was the very first picture I took of my classroom and the First Graders for 2008/2009.
They are an absolutely wonderful group of Friends! It has been a challenging year at school in so many ways...but being in First Grade has kept me really grounded about what I do each day.
After so many years in First Grade...next year, I will have a change and teach 3rd grade!
I am still trying to get my head round it. It doesn't seem real quite yet.
I haven't taught outside of First Grade, as many of you know.
I will (I think) continue to be the Preschool Coordinator/Manager.
I am debating back and forth about it. It is a BIG job and wears me out.
It is, of course, about balance and my own search for real joy in what I do each day.
The last week of a school year might seem like an ending, but because of the coordination...it is just the beginning of the work that needs to be done to get ready for next year!
Maybe this is my quandary...I am still working it out.
I want a real ending to it all and still don't see the light at the end of the tunnel.
In other news, my little Friend Nikolas participated in the Talent Show this week and we were so proud!
It is completely unbelievable but I do not have a single picture from the event because Nils and I were the parents running the show! That was disappointing when I realized it.
He was great and I really experienced his performance, but I am such a memory nut. *sigh*
Emma Grace had 3 recitals during the week as well...playing the piano and the violin.
She was fantastic and we were so proud. We used the Flip on her...so when there is time I will upload the video.
I simply cannot wait for Summer holiday, when if finally does arrive!
I have a week long Art Camp next week that I am really excited about and will finish my writing for our Art grant project.
I will update those pages throughout the week! I am a bit behind updating because of the end of the year activities at school.
We're still thinking about where we will go as a family and what we will do. I am off to Switzerland in July for a Teaching Conference...so mixing a bit of work with pleasure. But then I just hope we'll have a get away together as a family...we just need some time to plan and decide!
So here's to the end of another school year come and gone!
Really, really enjoy the Summer...wherever you find yourself!
